For kids who want to know more about horses, like equine evolution, diet and nutrition, behavior and herd life, and anatomy of our equine friends. This class also provides hands on time with our horses to teach you some of the basics of care, and a little time to ride. We can customize your field trip to meet your needs! Please let us know at the time of your booking if there will be special requirements for a badge.
Every class will be 2 hours and include:
safety precautions for being near and handling horses
horse herd behavior and how horses evolved
equine eyesight
anatomy of the horse
hands on grooming procedures
hoof anatomy and trimming
eating habits, nutrition and the basics of horse care
basic horse riding instruction in the round pen
if time allows; demonstration of how to train simple behaviors
